Poor Customer Services - Montague Citibank Branch

would like to comment on the experience that I encountered this week with Citibank employees.

Unsatisfied customer services:

On August 25, 2015 at around 1pm, I was in the Citibank branch on 181 Montague Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201. The purpose of my visit was to make a deposit and get some cash back. I waited on line more than 20 minutes to see the teller. When I finally reached the teller window, I informed her that I would like to deposit my payroll check (Citibank check) into my account and get some cash back. To my surprise she deposited the full amount and handed me the receipt. I asked her where my cash is and she told me that she cannot give me the money without explanation. When I requested to get my check back, she said that she cannot do that because it was already deposited it. I asked to speak to the branch manager. She told me to go customer service area. When I got to the customer service area, the representative told me to go back to Citigold window and request to speak to the branch supervisor. I waited for another 30 minutes and was unable to speak to the branch manager or supervisor because I had to return to work.

When I got back to the office I called the number on my card. I spoke to two representatives and they were not able to help me as well. The first representative tried her best to connect me to the branch manager, however, no one at the branch answered her call so she advised me to go back to the branch. Due to the fact that the branch closed at 4pm, I was not able to resolve the issue so I decided to call the number on my card again and spoke to another representative. He kept on telling me that my money will not be clear until 10 business days and informed me that is the bank%u2019s policy. He said if I need to get the check cleared right away, I need to go back to the branch. They both kept telling to go back to the branch. I informed the representatives how inconvenient this is to me. Their responses were %u201Csorry ma%u2019am, there nothing we can%u2019t do%u201D. I told the representatives that I am going to close my account and their replies were %u201CSorry ma%u2019am%u201D. This is very poor and unacceptable customer service. I had been with Citibank since February 2015 and never have a problem until now.
