Citi Bank customer service - Virtual credit card number
I was trying to create a " virtual "credit card number for use on the internet. After trying to do this for some time I finally gave up and tried to call customer service (I pay for my minutes),
I tried 4 different numbers listed on their web site... 4 (four) of them were bogus: (IE when answered I was told I won something such as a free trip to Bermuda, another a free trip to Orlando Florida, on one I was told that the number was not a working number, and etc.
Finally at the bottom there was one other number... as a last ditch attempt I dialed it, and lo ad behold I got an automated Citi bank response. After finally getting past the automated system I had to re-verify all the information I had just given to this operator. The operator decided that I should be transferred to another location... after a long wait finally someone came on the line and and I had to re-verify again!
The agent seemed to speak English but did not understand almost anything I was requesting. Finally I requested to speak with a Supervisor after another long wait the original customer service rep came back and and tried to help me, the supervisor was standing behind her telling her what to do... with a small measure of success. Finally I figured out two of the items I needed help with, but was now on the phone for 1 1/4 hours where I had to pay for every minute. I was so upset that and there was still a procedure that I needed to to ... was so concerned about all the money I was spending just to try to get some proper customer service, that all I wanted to do was to get off the phone. The supervisor then decided to talk to me directly and tell me how much she appreciated my being a Citi bank customer ... she kept going on and on ... FINALLY I told her I was hanging up, but she just kept going on. I did finally did hang up while she was still thanking me for being such a loyal customer. Before I hung up I told her I should send a bill to Citi bank for my phone bill and time, but she totally ignored me as she was thanking me for my loyalty.
I have only once been able to generate a "virtual" credit card number. I have tried both methods:
1) Online and the other
2) downloading the APP
The online one would not generate a number, and the the downloadable version would not download.

Today I went to the Citi bank branch at 444 Marmaroneck Ave. I wanted to get some help with getting a virtual credit card number. The Manager gave me a phone number to call and said I should issue a complaint, then disappeared to help another customer. When he reappeared he went right to the phone and made a call... totally ignoring me!!!
I left without getting any help of any kind!!
When I looked at the number he gave to me it was one of the numbers that went to "you have won a free trip to...
All I can say is this is not customer service... this is customer DISSERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
